IT IS RAINING IN SUVA IN SEPTEMBER
It is September. In Suva, it has been raining lately. I am sure it is dry season in other parts of the Pacific, like Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. In August 2023, when I got to Fiji, it was dry and hot in Nadi, in the west, where the international airport is located. Picture: It can be dry in PNG and Solomons in September, as seen in this photo. When I got to Suva after a three-hour drive, I was met with a drizzle and cold. I thought I had arrived in a place like Brisbane, where it can be very cold in August. Such is Suva. It can be dry and hot elsewhere, but here it would be raining and can get cold in the night.
